Uniting the goalkeeping world by supporting goalkeeper coaches to replace lost revenue in unprecedented times.
As a result of the COVID-19 outbreak, it is likely that goalkeeper training and coaching centres will be severely impacted globally in the weeks to come. We may have not seen such an impact in some countries yet, as schools remain open and the virus remains in a very early stage of its outbreak.
However, the impact and disturbance of the virus will continue to grow in the coming weeks and months; it is imperative that we are as prepared for this period as possible and are able to take action to ensure as much normal functioning as possible.
Within the coming weeks and months, it is inevitable that there will be significant disruption globally to goalkeeper coaching centres and academies. For goalkeeper coaches, reliant on self-employment and income from their business, this will have significant financial implications.
Coaches are likely to pass a period of time without expected income from their centres and supplementary services.
Knowing that we already have a powerful platform at Goalkeeping Intelligence, with regular contact with goalkeeper coaches and access to some of the top professionals, specialists and coaches across the game, we want to help.
Remote learning will likely become a much more normal part of children’s education in the next couple of months and we believe that we can utilise this to support goalkeeper coaches and their centres, too.
We will pivot the production of new content on the site towards videos, courses and ‘do-at-home’ exercises for goalkeepers (particularly youth) across the world. When the moment comes, we hope that this can provide a supplement to goalkeepers who wouldn’t otherwise have training and may benefit from physical activity. This will include:
- Individual training with Richard Lee
- Strength and conditioning with Jesse Goleman
- Nutrition interviews with Laura Andrews
- ‘AskThePro’ with Chris Kirkland
- Psychological interviews with Richard Lee
It will, of course, not replace traditional coaching sessions, but it will allow goalkeeper coaching centres to continue to provide a high-quality goalkeeping experience and importantly keep generating some income to remain afloat and survive the difficult times.
We will be extending our affiliate scheme to provide all goalkeeper coaches with 60% of the sign-up fee, double our traditional affiliate rate, for any of their goalkeepers. They can either sign up as affiliates firstname.lastname@example.org / +447824517780 to arrange manual bulk uploads for entire centres or groups.and share their unique code with goalkeepers for the commission to be automatic or speak to Adam at
We remain resolute with all of those who are, and will be, affected by the COVID-19 outbreak. We are entering unprecedented times with serious consequences both from a health and economic perspective.
During this period, it is vital that we come together to share ideas, keep the economy moving where possible and follow the required protocol to minimise the impact of the virus within our communities.
This is not a case of putting the economy over health, but instead a realisation that the two will work hand-in-hand: the greater the economic impact, the graver the health and wellbeing situation we will face in the medium- and long-term.
Of course, if you have any questions, ideas or suggestions for the affiliate scheme, or would like to enquire about signing up for your centres, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
Yours in goalkeeping,
The Goalkeeping Intelligence team.
